Spray pump or sprayer — what is the difference?
In most of India the words spray pump and sprayer mean the same machine: a tank, a pump that builds pressure and a lance with a nozzle. The type of pump is what separates the models — hand lever, battery-driven electric pump, petrol engine or a high-pressure triple-piston (HTP) pump driven by a motor, engine or tractor.
Which agricultural spray pump is right for you?
| Spray pump type | Best for | Masand range |
|---|---|---|
| Battery spray pump | Most field crops and vegetables, small to medium farms | 12V 8–22 Ah, single & double motor, 20 L |
| Manual knapsack spray pump | Small plots, spot spraying, lowest cost | 16 L, brass / nylon / double chamber |
| Petrol knapsack power spray pump | Large areas, cotton, sugarcane, plantations | 2- and 4-stroke engines, 20–25 L |
| Portable power spray pump | Orchards, tall trees, long hose work | Up to 400 psi, 15 m hose |
| HTP spray pump | Orchards, sanitation, tractor / motor drive | 13–90 L/min, 80–350 m reach |
