How much pesticide do I put in a 16 litre pump?

Multiply the label dose per litre by 16. For example, a dose of 2 ml per litre needs 32 ml in a 16 L pump. If the label gives a dose per acre, divide it by the number of tanks you spray per acre.

How many tanks are needed for one acre?

Divide the water volume per acre by your tank size. At 200 L of water per acre a 16 L knapsack needs 12–13 tanks and a 20 L battery sprayer needs 10 tanks.

How do I calibrate a knapsack sprayer?

Collect the water from the nozzle for one minute, time how long you take to walk 50 m while spraying, and measure your spray width. Litres per hectare = discharge (L/min) × 10,000 ÷ (speed in m/min × width in m).
